Emphasis is placed on the fundamental principles of physical and inorganic chemistry. Topics include techniques of data analysis, chemical kinetics, chemical equilibrium, acids, bases, and salts, thermochemistry, electrochemistry, coordination chemistry. Computer skills are introduced and applied to data analysis, laboratory simulations, and computer interfacing with laboratory equipment.
