Boron trifluoride

Boron trifluoride is an example of this exception. Boron (group IIIA) has 3 electrons and each fluorine atom has 7 for a total of 24. When drawn correctly, the electron-dot formula for this molecule will have the less electronegative boron atom in the center with only 6 electrons around it.
