This course has three general Units of focus, each consisting of multiple Chapters and Sections. The first Unit introduces thermochemistry (enthalpy) and thermodynamics (entropy and Gibbs energy). The second Unit address physical equilibria (including states of matter and solutions) and takes advantage of the concepts masters in the first Unit. The final Unit involves chemical equilibria and includes multiple phenomena, including acids and bases, solubility (precipitation) and complex ion formation. Again, the concepts of the first Unit will be critical in understanding these phenomena.
