There is no perfect solution but LibreTexts has developed a number of ways of handling this.
For a book with a single author or a team of authors, of course, this can be done in the Front Matter with a page titled About the Authors, or a list of authors on the title page or you can use the Author Bar in the page settings to select the author(s). If the name of the author is not found on the list, LibreTexts Administrators will have to add it. If you do so the author's name will be displayed at the top of the page
LibreTexts reserves the Author Bar for cases where there is a well defined person responsible for the overwhelming majority of the text. Those who remix/curate, etc. can be acknowledged in text at the bottom of a page or putting author@Name in the metatag at the bottom of the page settings

Finally every paragraph in the books on the community bookshelf are spray painted with an identifying number which can be used in LibreTexts Auto Attribution system to identify where it originated from.
