17.6: Named Reactions

There are many reactions that operate via nucleophilic acyl substitution that have specific names, known as named reactions. The mechanisms are sometimes more complicated that just substitution at the carbonyl carbon. Each reaction, listed below, provides unique ways to create common (or even rare) functional groups.
