    Diablo Valley College (DVC) & Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, students will collaborate to pursue separate models and prototypes, which meet the Project's Objectives.

    The 2 groups will have separate Work-in-Progress (WIP) Wikis, and will share a joint collaborative Wiki that will be developed, where mutually useful information, data, and reports will be shared. This 3rd (shared) Wiki site will also serve as an archive and interactive portal for communications.

    Project Objectives:

    • We will be thoroughly studying vertical farming's, specifically aquaponics, best current practices to aid in designing, engineering, and developing working models used for raising consumable fish, which provide fertilizer necessary for growing crops.
    • Available local materials and accessible resources will be used to design & build scientifically supported, practical, relatively low cost proof-of-concept prototypes.
