This activity examines the movement of an electron from one part of a molecule to another. In the activity students use time dependent quantum mechanics applied to the one-dimensional particle-in-a-box. The activity focuses on providing a physical interpretation of a wavefunction. Increased experience with expectation values, practice with complex numbers and functions, and practical use of time independent/dependent wavefunctions are included.
This activity is available as a Mathcad file.
