    For each of the eight main groups on the periodic table answer the following questions:

    3. How does the electronegativity of the group compare to the group to the left (if applicable) and to the group to the right (if applicable)?
    4. How does the ionization energy of the elements of the group compare to the elements in the group to the left (if applicable) and to the elements in the group to the right (if applicable)?
    5. How does the Standard Reduction Potential of the elements in the group change as you go down the group?
    6. How does the metallic nature of the elements of the group compare to the elements in the group to the left (if applicable) and to the elements in the group to the right (if applicable)?

    Q2: Physical Properties

    For each of the eight main groups on the perioidic table answer the following questions:

    1. What is the phase of each element in the group under standard temperature and pressure?
    2. What is the origin of the name of the group?
    3. What possible allotropes are there (under standard temperature and pressure) for the elements of the group?

    Q3: Chemical Properties

    For each of the eight main groups on the perioidic table answer the following questions:

    1. What are the commonly found oxidation state of the elements in the group? Do they change from the top to the bottom of the group and why?
    2. What is the balanced chemical reaction of the top element in the group with water?
    3. What is the balanced chemical reaction of the bottom (non-radioactive) element in the group with water?
    4. What is the balanced chemical reaction of the top element in the group with a representative halogen?
    5. What is the balanced chemical reaction of the bottom (non-radioactive) element in the group with a representative halogens?
    6. What is the balanced chemical reaction of the top element in the group with oxygen?
    7. What is the balanced chemical reaction of the bottom (non-radioactive) element in the group with oxygen (there can be more than one answer depending on the amount of oxygen available)?
