Dehydrohalogenation

A dehydrohalogenation is an elimination reaction in which the net reaction is the loss of a molecule of a hydrogen halide ( HF, HCl, HBr, or HI) from the molecule of the substrate.

Overall, dehydrohalogenation is the exact opposite of hydrohalogenation.
