The integumentary system, includes many tissues that work together in this organ system. The largest organ in the system is the skin, but the integumentary system also includes, hair, nails, oil glands, and sweat glands. Watch this video for a brief introduction, Skin, Hair, and Nails.
What is Skin? It is the largest organ in the body, and what protects all of our other organs.
Complete the tasks on the list below:
- Go to this page: http://www.innerbody.com/anatomy/integumentary, and read about the Integumentary System. Read the entire page
- Use the 2D Interactive viewer at the top of the page http://www.innerbody.com/anatomy/integumentary to view several of the key componenets of the system:
- Epidermis Layer
- Fingernails
- Hair
