    Instructor Graded

The following questions will be graded manually by your instructor. You can edit your submission up until the deadline for this assignment.

Use the virtual lab above and determine both the molar mass and Ka for your solid acid

In the previous labs you knew the molarity of the acid and the base, and so could calculate the equivalence point based on the volume of analyte used (at the equivalent point MaVa=MbVb), but here you have a solid, and do not know its molar mass.

So you first need to do an exploratory run.  It is suggested you take 25 mL of the strong base and find out what mass of solid is required to neutralize it (you add the solid to the base and see what mass makes the solution acidic).  Once you know that, you do a normal titration where you use that mass of solid, and find the equivalence point.  Then you can calculate the molar mass and Ka of the solid acid.

    Question \(\PageIndex{1}\) - 20 points
