Creating an Adapt Account
To create an ADAPT student account:
- Go to adapt.libretexts.org
- Click on the “Create your Student Account” in the Students section or select the “Register” drop-down menu and click on “Student.” Figure \(\PageIndex{1}\) shows the two options for creating an account.
- Complete the Register With ADAPT form (See (Figure \(\PageIndex{2}\))) by entering your name, student ID, and email, and create a password. You can also set your timezone using the drop-down menu. Please note you must use the ID and email associated with your course student account.
- Submit the form. If you receive an error message, you did not input one of the required fields.
Completing the form will take you to the “My Courses” dashboard, where you can view your courses.
Registering for a Course
Before registering for a course, you must have an access code, which should be provided by your instructor. To register for a course:
1. Click on the “Enroll in Course” button on your My Courses dashboard (See (Figure \(\PageIndex{3}\)))
2. Enter the Course Access Code in the form.
3. Click submit
Completing the form should return you to your My Courses dashboard, where you should see the added course.
If you receive an error message after submitting the course access code, you may need to:
- Double-check the access code.
- Check your email address: your course has specific domains it is looking for, and the ending of your email doesn’t match the expected domain. You may need to create a new account with the appropriate email address if you’ve used the wrong one.
Updating Account Information and Notifications
You can update your name, ID, password, and notifications by navigating to the drop-down menu (Figure \(\PageIndex{4}\)) with “Hi, [your name]” and selecting the “Settings” option.
You can navigate to the Profile, Password, and Notifications sections of the settings by clicking them in the settings menu. By default, you are sent a notification about your ADAPT assignments 24 hours before they are due. The alternative options are turning off reminders, 1 hr before it’s due, 6 hrs before it’s due, and 12 hrs before it’s due.

If you have any issues registering for a course or modifying your information, you can contact the ADAPT support team by
- Clicking the “Support” button in the upper right corner of the ADAPT page.
- Selecting the “Contact Support” option.
- Completing the support ticket form.
