In this section we will be exploring some of the chemistry of acids and bases. We will start with a couple of different definitions and look at the chemistry which results from these definitions. As we have done for precipitation reactions, we can also predict the results of certain acid-base reactions. Finally, we will see that not all acids and bases behave exactly the same in water and we will discuss the terms used to describe that feature.
