    Reduction of Halides

    Alkyl halides can be reduced to alkanes through reaction with hydrife reagents, most commonly LiAlH4

    Mechanism

    Hydride addition to epoxides

    The hydride attacks the less substituted side of the epoxide. The H and OH are anti to each other.
