    As you learned in the video, materials move across membranes because of concentration differences. 

    When materials move across the cell membrane without requiring energy input from the cell this is called passive transport

    Diffusion is one of two types of passive transport. Molecules diffuse from an area of higher concentration to one of lower concentration, or down the concentration gradient
