The Fluid Mosaic Model

    We use the fluid mosaic model to describe the cell membrane. This indicates that the cell membrane is not rigid, instead it is flexible. Also the phospholipids can move around a bit, and there are other molecules embedded in the membrane. 

    If you look at this image you can see there are proteins, and carbohydrates also found in the cell membrane.
