    Many of you may already know the origin of the word Biology, if you do great! If not take a minute to learn where this word came from and what it means. 

    Biology is derived from the Greek words bios and logos.  

    Bios - life
    Logos - study

    This makes Biology the study of life. Watch the video below to learn what the 7 characteristics of living things are. We sometimes call these COLTs in Biology.  Write each characteristic down as it is listed, along with an original example of this characteristic (not the one given in the video).
