Let’s start by walking through the process of registering for an instructor’s account and creating a new book. Start at https://one.libretexts.org. If you have an account you can go directly to signing on, if not you will have to register. To register you will have to provide an Email account and a password. We strongly prefer that those registering for an instructor’s account use an institutional email (for example .edu or .org in the US).

Figure \(\PageIndex{1}\): Form for registering for a LibreTexts Instructor's Account

As usual these days for registration LibreTexts will send you a confirmation code which you have to enter in the next frame

We will ask a few questions starting with your name. Please take this seriously as spoofing your name or not filling out the entry bollixes user search functions in the system.

Next, your institution. Entering the first few letters will bring up the complete title which you should select.

And we want to know your timezone, especially useful when we need to get in touch

You have completed the basic registration, but now we need to start the Instructor verification segment

LibreTexts provides free instructor accounts to any secondary or higher education instructor that applies. The most important thing for you to provide is a URL where it is clearly shown that you are an instructor.

    Don’t provide:

    • A LinkedIn or other social media app account (RateMyProfessor pages have convinced us)
    • A link to the top page of your institution. We do use a search if that is available, but that often does not work
    • A link which requires a login. Many course lists do that.
    • Do provide a link that clearly shows you are an instructor

You can ask for an account for our OnLine homework/assessment system ADAPT, or our self standing OER system Nova which can be used in remote locations where connectivity is lacking. We also have three libraries with texts in Spanish and Ukrainian as well as smaller libraries in French, Portugues, Hindi, Arabic, Chinese and Kishwali

When you have filled out the Instructor Verification Form you will see this page. Verification can take longer than 48 hours, but we try.

You will receive an email when your account is approved and you can then go to to https://one.libretexts.org or https://one.libretexts.org/home and login.
