- Have a general understanding of the characteristics of an ideal transducer. Understand the differences between single channel and multichannel transducers.
- Know the two general types of radiation transducers: photoelectric and heat. Specifically, be able to describe how the phototube, photomultiplier, silicon photodiode, photodiode array, CCD, thermocouple, and pyroelectric transducers operate. (AES web page)
