This page is for you to practice with transcluded materials in LibreTexts. Something like this will show up in any transcluded page, so it will be good to understand what it tells you. You may also want to use Content Reuse to add subsections of source pages to a page, or dynamic figures created with CalcPlot3D, Geogebra Applets, etc.

Reusing/Transcluding/Mirroring a Subsection of a Source Page

Here is an example of a Content Reuse object (note that before you edit the page, this material appears to be part of this page).

This example shows how we can pull in a subsection of another page and make it appear to be part of the current page. Using this approach we could intersperse content from another source with our own examples and subsections. The benefit of this is that any typos or formatting fixed in the original source page would immediately be updated on our page as well.

Transcluding a CalcPlot3D Dynamic Figure

Below is a dynamic figure created using CalcPlot3D. It is initially placed in its own page in the Simulations and Visualizations page on the Bookshelves. We can locate it and place a link to it in our page using the Content Reuse option on the Elements menu that displays above when you are editing a page.

2. It's Your Turn: Use the Content Reuse feature on the Elements menu to insert another CalcPlot3D figure below.

Transcluding a Whole Source Page (without using the Remixer)

You can also use this Content Reuse feature to directly transclude a page/section from a book in the Bookshelves (or somewhere else in Courses). That is, we don't even need to use the Remixer to do this, although the Remixer will make it a lot easier to transclude a whole series of pages into a book.

Remember that transcluded pages will adjust their chapter and section numbers (in titles, examples, figures, etc.) but will mirror any updates or corrections made to the original pages. This is ideal whenever you want your page to be the same as a page located elsewhere on LibreTexts and you understand the efficiency of only needing to correct or update the page in one place.

3. It's Your Turn: Create a New Page in this "Chapter" naming it Mirror (or whatever you like). Save the page. Then edit it and use the Content Reuse feature to transclude a page from a textbook in the Bookshelves. (Any page will do.)
