As times change, so do the professions men and women enter into. College and universities have come full circle as well. Where men used to be the ones who attended college, women far outnumber the men in college today. Even though men and women both attend school, high school and beyond, men still earn more money than women.

Why the difference in male versus female salaries?

Part of this discrepancy is due to women choosing to work in career fields such as nursing, teaching, and clerical work, which often do not pay high salaries no matter how high the education level.
Another factor is that women in the workforce are also less likely to work a full-time schedule and are more likely to leave the labor force for longer periods of time than men.

Choosing a career based upon salary is one way men and women choose "what to be when they grow up." However, when you love what you do, you never feel like you are at work!
