Welcome to Unit 8! This is the last unit of this course and it's a unit all about REFLECTIONWebster's New World Dictionary defines reflection as "serious thought" or "contemplation." The root meaning of the word is "to bend/give back." The core idea is that we look back on experiences that have shaped who we are today and realize what we've learned from them and how to move forward. The goal of this unit will be for you to create a reflective presentation of 5-10 minutes in which you take a look back at an experience or series of experiences that shaped who you are and who you are becoming. You'll use digital tools and an audio recording of your own voice to demonstrate how those events (or even ideas) shaped the person you are today. It's a powerful process and a very fitting way to end your senior English class. In this session, we'll begin the process by exploring what this genre is all about.
