Begin this discussion with an initial post regarding this new year. Describe what you anticipate in this new year -- something particularly noteworthy in your own life or in our community, nation, and world. Then share some of your own goals and how you plan to achieve them. What strategies can help you ensure success? Add pictures/images, links, or other outside resources to your post to foster a richer discussion.

Later in the week, return to this board and comment on the posts of at least two of your peers. Ask questions, clarify, offer advice, share a different perspective, and give additional examples to build true discussion.

Among other things, this discussion serves as an opportunity for you to get to know other students (especially students new to this class) and develop networks and strategies so you can achieve what you want to achieve.

Remember that you can type your response in a Word or Google document and check for errors before posting your responses. You should adhere to all conventions of standard English and present a well-developed post. You'll need to post YOUR response before you can see the thoughts of other students.

Discussions will be graded on the rubric here.
