As you revisit your application writing, you may find that your resume, cover letter, or college essay is simply too long to meet the expectations or requirements for your application. Reduce verbiage that's unnecessary. Focus on creating concise, clear statements. First recall the tips that you learned in session 1 and session 2A and 2B and identify ways to eliminate "fluff" in your work. Note that this doesn't mean eliminating the engaging figurative language or critical transitions. It means saying the same thing with fewer words. Combine short sentences. Look for places where you've used passive voice, weak verbs, state of being verbs, or other unnecessary structures.
