  • 1.21A What Works in Job Hunting?<p><span style="font-size: 16px;">Your first step in this session is to discuss with your classmates what it takes to write a really great resume and cover letter. <strong>Answer at least two of these questions</strong> as you consider what makes a good resume and cover letter:</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.4;">How much time do you think employers spend looking at a single resume? </span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.4;">What kinds of resumes will get the most attention?</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.4;">What are the essential parts of a resume?</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.4;">What kinds of mistakes should you be sure to avoid in your application writing? (For inspiration, check out the Resume Failures article attached here!)</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.4;">What is a cover letter anyway? Do you really need one?</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.4;">What do you do if you have absolutely no experience and nothing to write on a resume?</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size: 16px;">Respond to at least two peers in this discussion with an example of the concept, life experience, or question to further the discussion.</span></p>
