You may want to wait until you have a better idea of your topic, or you may be ready to write now.

In any case, the next step is to write the first draft of your college essay.  Remember the key goals and guidelines for this essay as you write:

    • 250-500 words (or maximum 650 words for the common application) -clear and concise
    • Be yourself.  Show your strengths and personality through your writing.
    • Remember to show what makes you unique.
    • Catch your reader’s attention early since your essay may only get a two-minute reading.
    • Write in clear sentences and paragraphs, demonstrating your writing abilities.

Set aside quiet time when you can write without interruptions.  You can finish it up on Thursday and submit it on Friday.

This is just a draft for now so write freely and see what you come up with!
