The Great Gatsby - Chapter 8

  • As mentioned in an earlier lesson this week, chapter eight of The Great Gatsby is a pretty violent chapter.

    As you read the chapter and answer the question, consider why Fitzgerald would do this. Consider why he tells us some things, but leaves others to our imagination. Look for those symbols again as well. How is Fitzgerald bringing his argument to a close?
