This will be your final essay for the quarter.

Again, I have included the rubric, the excerpt, and the prompt for reference.

    Prompt:

After reading “Demeter’s Prayer to Hades” by Rita Dove (with additional support texts of a biography of Rita Dove and the myth of Demeter and Persephone), write an essay that analyzes the piece through the one literary theory that best fits this work, providing examples to justify your analysis. Then in a second draft, revise and edit.

    Requirements of the paper:

    • MLA format.
    • Meets rubric requirements. (See attached rubric.)
    • Addresses all aspects of the prompt.
      • In order to meet all ascpects of the prompt, you will need to submit a rough draft, and then a final draft. I should see some changes between the drafts. You may submit both drafts here.

Before turning in your essay, I would like you to use the Writing Reviser by SAS Curriculum Pathways to proof read and revise your essay. You will need to create an account with them in order to use the Writing Reviser if you have not done so (it's free and easy!).

    Writing Reviser, QL #4003

The video below goes over how to use each part of the Writing Reviser if it is confusing for you. Note that when you go to save your document using Writing Reviser, the icon might not be Google Chrome as stated in the video, but an icon for whatever your default browser is.

After revising your essay using the Writing Reviser, you may now submit your essay.
