    After compiling some notes by filling out the graphic organizer in the previous assignment, it is now time to write!

    Respond to the following prompt:

    After reading Margaret Chase Smith’s “Remarks to the Senate in Support of a Declaration of Conscience” in 1950, write an extended (over two days), multi-paragraph response that addresses how the author uses style, word choice, and tone to persuade her audience. Support your response with evidence from the text.

    You will find a copy of "Remarks to the Senate in Support of a Declaration of Conscience" attached as a PDF (it is also included in the "Reading for Style, Word Choice, and Tone" lesson).
