The Big Bang can be a controversial subject for those without a scientific background. In this class we will focus on the evidence.

The Big Bang is the most widely accepted theory for the beginning of the universe.

Remember what a theory is? It is the best accepted explanation for an event. The evidence and facts back it up. It stands the test of time and many peer reviews. It can never become a law (because that is something completely different) and has moved well beyond a hypothesis.
