    All stars have layers, surface features and sunspot cycles. Of course, not all stars are exactly like our sun. Many differ in size, color and age. We classify stars based on the "OBAFGKM" letter. Examine the chart below and notice that the star classes are listed along the left side. List 5 trends or patterns that you notice.

    Stars are grouped or classified based on their temperature. Knowing the temperature of a star can tell us many other important pieces of information, like it's color, size and brightness. You can even figure out the age of a star!
