Download the attached graph paper. This graph paper has squares that are 1 cm2

    1. Draw a root on the paper that is 10 cm long and 2 cm wide.
    2. Now calculate the surface area of this root.
    3. Next using a different-colored pen or pencil, add 10 root hairs to the root. Each root hair should be 2 cm long and 1 cm wide.
    4. How does the addition of root hairs affect the surface area of the root?

Use the submit button to turn in a copy of your work, including your drawing, calculations, and answers to the questions.
