    For this activity we're going to use a 3D protein viewer developed at MIT. Attached is a .pdf with some background reading, directions and questions for you to answer.

    To begin, open the attached .pdf file and read the background information on Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, and Nucleic Acids, paying attention to the images provided for the monomer and polymer of each macromolecule.   

    In the Getting Started section, follow the link to open the StarBiochem web site. You will need to download and install this software to run the view. From there follow the directions on the attached sheet and answer the questions.
