    Let's take a look at some of the properties individually: 

    High specific heat - this means that water resists changes in temperature. This property is very important in helping cells maintain homeostasis.

    Cohesion - is what makes water molecules stick to each other. Have you ever seen water bead on a recently washed car?

     

    Adhesion - is what helps water molecules to stick to other things. Water molecules tend to stick to the sides of vessels, this property is what helps plants transport water from their roots to their leaves.
