18: Importing LibreTexts into an LMS

  • Instructions for downloading the imsmanifest.xml file

    This procedure is used to import a LibreTexts into your Learning Management System (LMS) as a set of links. For Canvas, these links will be added to your modules section.

    1. Go to the cover page of the LibreTexts you want to import. If you want to import just a chapter, go to the page of the chapter you want to import.
    2. Click on clipboard_eda2b9a9782a7828eac408327b51adebc.png to download an imsmanifest.xml file.

     

    Instructions for importing into Canvas

    1. Go to your course in canvas.
    2. Go to settings on the left side of the course pane.
    3. Go to clipboard_eaf02e5720c4ccb7b4eb9712e8fb59005.png on the right side of the course pane.
    4. Set the Content Type as a Common Cartridge 1.x Package.
    5. For source, select the imsmanifest.xml file that you downloaded previously
    6. Select All Content.
    7. Click Import!
    8. Wait for the loading bar to finish.
    9. You content is now available in modules!

    Other LMS platforms

     D2L, Moodle, and Blackboard also support the imsmanifest.xml file.
