    Learning Objectives

After completing this module, you will be able to…

    • Objective 1

    • Objective 2

    Introduction

Add a brief introduction to the experiment here.  Keep your level of inquiry in mind as you create this section.  Lab materials designed for lower levels of inquiry might have detailed introduction sections, while those with higher levels of inquiry might provide only a brief overview.

Introductions that include summarizing or interesting visualizations can help draw interest in the topic. A placeholder for a figure is provided below.

Figure X: Copy and Paste Caption here. (Copyright; author via source)

Remember to choose a license for your work – my favorite is the CC BY-NC-SA license, so I add "(CC BY_NC_SA; Kathryn Haas)" to my original figures. But I am no expert on licensing, and we should defer to the CLC Innovators project on this point. You can manually add your license to your entire "book" using the Page Settings (right above the page title).  If you create your own figures or use figures from other creators, add the license to the figure caption in the place indicated by the Template:AddFigureSingle template.

    Pre-Experiment Assignments

📅 Due: Tell your students when this is due (before their lab meeting, at a certain time?).

🎯 Purpose: Tell them why this assignment is important. For example: "This pre-meeting assignment is designed to help you arrive to the meeting prepared to engage in thoughtful discussion and to conduct the experimental work."

📝 How this will be graded: Tell students how their work will be assessed. For example "These will be graded on correctness using a 10-point system." or "This will be graded using a grading rubric. (provide link to grading rubric)"

    Pre-Experiment Questions (or Tasks)

    1. Add Question Here

    2. Add Question Here

If you’d like to provide hints or the answers to students (for formative exercises), add them below each question.

    Protocol

What will students do in the lab?  Consider providing a brief overview.

    Safely working with Hazards

This is a placeholder to share information about hazards, PPE, or other safety precautions that should be taken when working with the materials used in this experiment.

    Waste Disposal

Share protocols for safely disposing of waste.

    Materials

List material here, if appropriate.  Or, describe how students might choose their materials, if appropriate.

    Procedure

Give instructions for what students should do in lab, or how they will design their procedure.

    Post-Experiment Assignments

📅 Due: Tell your students when this is due (after their lab meeting, at a certain time?).

🎯 Purpose: Tell them why this assignment is important. For example: "This post-meeting assignment is designed to help you reflect on your work and to practice thinking clearly through writing."

📝 How this will be graded: Tell students how their work will be assessed. For example "These will be graded on correctness using a 10-point system." or "This will be graded using a grading rubric. (provide link to grading rubric)"

Describe the post-lab assignment, if applicable,

    Post-Experiment Questions (or Tasks)

Add your post-lab assignment instructions here.

    1. Post-Lab Question

    2. Post-Lab Question
