- 4.1: Heat
- Heat is an energy transfer between two substances or mixtures at different temperatures
- 4.2: Bond Energies and Chemical Reactions. Endothermic and Exothermic Reactions.
- Atoms are held together by a certain amount of energy called bond energy. Chemical processes are labeled as exothermic or endothermic based on whether they give off or absorb energy, respectively.
- 4.12: Hess's Law
- Hess's law allows us to combine reactions algebraically and then combine their enthalpy changes the same way.
- 4.17: Entropy Changes in Chemical Reactions
- Changes in internal energy, that are not accompanied by a temperature change, might reflect changes in the entropy of the system.
