p-Toluenesulfonyl chloride or tosyl chloride (abbreviation: TsCl) is the compound obtained when the hydroxy group in the molecule of p-toluenesulfonic acid is replaced with a chlorine atom.
p-Toluenesulfonyl chloride is the reagent used to convert alcohols into alkyl tosylates.
