    Work in groups on these problems. You should try to answer the questions without referring to your textbook. If you get stuck, try asking another group for help.

    Calculate the pH for each [H+] given below:

    [H+] = 0.00025; pH = 3.60

    [H+] = 1.0 x 10-7; pH = 7.00

    [H+] = 2.3 x 10-3; pH = 2.64

    [H+] = 7.6 x 10-12; pH = 11.12

    Determine the [H+] from the pH:

    pH = 7.4; [H+] = 3.98 x 10-8

    pH = 2.8; [H+] = 0.00158

    pH = 12.7; [H+] = 2.0 x 10-13

    pH = 4.5; [H+] = 0.0000316
