You will need to learn (right away) how to type special characters like the accent marks and special punctuation ¡¿. There are many different ways to do this and which is best depends on several factors - what program you're using, what type of computer you have, how often you'll actually need them, etc. SpanishDict.com's How to type Spanish Accents and Letters page has a pretty good explanation of common ways to handle these characters.

I, personally, use the ALT codes or set my keyboard to Spanish when I type in Sakai, but I've had lots of practice with them so they're pretty second-nature by now. If you expect to need to type in Spanish in the future, it's worth learning to use the codes, or learn the Spanish layout on your keyboard.
