The conditional is used for things that "would happen" under a condition. If you are trying to say something like "When I was young, I would play with my sister." you need the IMPERFECT tense.  This is not a conditional statement - this is just another way we use the word "would" in English to talk about habitual actions in the past. Cuando era joven, jugaba con mi hermana.
